Please join us on Sunday the 4th of June and help clear up as much Roadside Plastic Trash and Other Garbage that has built up and accumulated all along this lovely country road and its adjacent verges, hedges, bushes, brambles and woodlands.... we will meet just before 10.ooam at the triangle junction just opposite Friston Pond and Church and then walk and work as a group towards Jevington picking up and bagging all the plastic and synthetic materials we find, objects that should not be found in this wildlife corridor and habitat, an area that is part of the South Downs National Park and the beautiful East Sussex countryside.... hi viz vests are recommended on this slightly busy road and we will have 'Slow Down Litter Picking' signs placed on the road to alert all drivers of our presence and activities... those who do not want to clear the verges can go 'off piste' into the wooded areas and bushes and retrieve any garbage they can find there.... there is plenty of it for all to find.... and it is a lovely location to find a spot for a picnic along the way.... so bring some snacks and soft drinks to enjoy in this scenic area and get to see all the late spring/early summer flowers and greenery as we remove as much trash as we can.... please bring a strong gathering bag or two and we will provide larger tonne bags to be filled with all the food wrappers and drinks bottles and cans and bits of car and other garbage that blight this roads surroundings .... by working together we can make a difference.... we act local and think global.. we removed approximately 10 tonnes of nasty harmful materials from the busy A259 Friston to Exceat Roadside woodland and bushes recently and l guesstimate that we will get more than 2 tonnes from this Jevington Friston stretch... also please consider walking the Friston Forest roadside edge down to Exceat at anytime and help clear up any fresh deposits of rubbish there... to prevent it from ever building up into such a huge amount again... thank you 💚.... Jonathan and Jenny of the Friston Residents Association Environmental Group can help with more information for local support in this and you can find out more about our environmental project and activities and other Extreme Coastal Clearance events and Wildlife Habitat clear ups by visiting our www.bhassexplore.com website or the bhassexplore Facebook page... please share this message with others who share our concerns about the environment and either join us or support us if you can... many thanks and all the best from WarmNorm of www.bhassexplore.com and the Green Sock Movement 💚
