Operation Uplift! Extreme Beach Clean & Environmental Fitness! Sun Sun 21st 9am - 3pm

💚💙💛 Help Required for 💥OPERATION💥UPLIFT💥 this Sunday 21st January at Cow Gap near Eastbourne, out on the ruggedly beautiful coastscape beneath the crumbling chalk cliffs on the way to Falling Sands and Beachy Head.... This Environmental Fitness test will involve the moving of almost a tonne of ☠️Marine☠️Debris☠️ that has been gathered all along this coast by Green Sock Movement 💚 volunteers over the winter months, up a 500m route that includes steps and steep slippery footpaths... to the nearest vehicular access point some 50m above sea level.... we have previously removed over five tonnes of plastic and synthetic materials by this route over the past 4 years and we know what hard work it can be to get all this fishing industry and general shipping debris up and off of this remote stretch of coast... so we are hoping to get some help with this environmental effort to keep this important marine life habitat free from the nasty harmful materials that wash up on the shingle beaches here with everytide.... by working together as a team it will be possible to get this bulk amount of marine debris permanently away from the sea... with between 10 and 20 reasonably fit people we can work as a team to carry the bagged trash from point 1 on the aerial photo to point A at the bottom of the metal steps.... then we can pass all the bags up through the chain of volunteers to get all the rubbish up to point 2 ... once we have gotten all that done we can rest and have a tea/coffee/snacks break before commencing the process of walking the bags up to point B just short of the steep chalk cut steps that rise 20 plus meters up to the final collection point where all the debris will be secured into large builders tonne bags to await collection by a 4x4 vehicle at a later date.... 💥OPERATION💥UPLIFT💥 is part of an ongoing environmental project to remove tonnes of marine debris from our incredible coastline beneath the cliffs of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters and other difficult to clear places all along the East Sussex coastline including at Cuckmere Haven and Splash Point as well as all the adjacent countryside... so please join us if you can to make this rather difficult task up from the beach at Cow Gap lighter work... and help make a massive difference for this particular location. ... and please consider walking this coastline whenever it is SAFE to do so and pick up and remove any plastic and synthetic materials that you find and either get them to a bin at Holywell or Birling Gap... or any of the www.bhassexplore.com collection points at Cow Gap or beyond the lighthouse at Beachy Head or at Cuckmere Haven. .. this 10km stretch of coastline is a marine debris magnet and it needs all the help we can give it..... in just short of 4 years, Green Sock Movement 💚 volunteers have now removed almost 60 tonnes of marine debris, plastic trash and other junk from very challenging locations... and yet there is always so much more to do.... please consider joining us for 💥OPERATION💥UPLIFT💥 next weekend or at any of our regular Extreme Beach Cleans and Wildlife Habitat Clear Ups in the coming year.... bring yourself and any friend, some positive energy and a 💚💙love💙💚 of the environment this shocking issue of plastic pollution all along our coastline and in our sea.... let's all work TOGETHER to make a difference For A Cleaner Planet 🌏 ... we act Local and think Global.... thank you for reading this far... please share our message about the Mess Age with others who may wish to join us and let's all work TOGETHER to make 2024 a better year for the environment! Thank you! 💚💙💛💙💚
